As you read store owners downtown have begun drawing down their shutters following a demonstration that West Kingston, strongman Christopher “Dudus” Coke was arrested following the signing of the extradition papers.
While an increasing number of police and soldiers have been deployed to the streets in the downtown area as precautionary measure, the government has denied signing the extradition papers.
Nonetheless, the rumours have sparked a demonstration in West Kingston and have persuaded businesses to begin sending home employees for the day. Which have resulted in huge traffic congestion in the Heroes Circle and Cross Road area.
In the meantime, fear and mayhem seem pending for the downtown community.
