Today is the last day for persons to sign condolence books in memory of the late cultural icon and academic, Professor Rex Nettleford.

The books are at the Institute of Jamaica, the Little Theatre, the Jamaica Confederation of Trade Unions and the University of the West Indies, Mona.

On Friday a condolence book was posted at Cornwall College in St James, the alma mater of Professor Nettleford.

Books are also available at Jamaican missions and embassies around the world.

An official funeral for Professor Nettleford, the vice-chancellor emeritus of the University of the West Indies will be held at the University Chapel tomorrow at 10 a.m.

The event will be streamed live on the UWI TV at http://www.uwimona.edu.jm and will also be broadcast on radio and television.

There will also be a special concert by the National Dance Theatre Company at the Little Theatre at 7 p.m.

Professor Nettleford died at the George Washington Hospital in Washington D.C. in the United States on February 2, six days after he suffered a heart attack.

He was 76 years old.
