The wait is over one of the Greatest Singers of all times Whitney Houston, as finally announced her first major tour in over 10 years.
The singer is expected to kick things off in 2010 in a statement over the weekend said, “This is my first full tour since the ‘My Love Is Your Love’ tour in 1999 and I am so excited to be performing for my fans around the world after all this time.”
Houston is expected to play five dates in Europe, including shows in England and Scotland, during April of 2010.
“I am putting together a great show and cannot wait to perform the songs from my new album ‘I Look to You’ along with some of your favorites.”
News of Houston’s tour follows confirmation that she will indeed perform on The X-Factor, the British version of American Idol, on 18 October, the day before the UK release of her comeback record ‘I Look To You’. It is her first studio album since 2002.
Houston’s tour kicks off in Manchester on April 8 before moving to Glasgow, Birmingham, Newcastle and London. She will also perform in Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Belgium.
Houston’s latest album I Look To You debuted atop the charts in September. It has spawned the singles “I Look To You” and “Million Dollar Bill”.
Whitney Houston is currently on the comeback trail after battling drug addiction. The singer’s new record features songs written by R Kelly, Alicia Keys and Akon, which have already topped the US Billboard Chart.
