Fans of West Indies cricket who always wanted to experience the superior mobile communications available on Blackberry devices will have the chance to win the most advanced Blackberry on the market – the Bold 9700. Digicel will have the high end smart phones to be won on social media websites, Facebook and Twitter.
Fans will be asked to guess the scores of the Windies team or certain players for every match of the Digicel One Day International Series and the Digicel Test Series. The fan who is closest to the score will win the highly prized mobile device.
To qualify, fans will have to either follow Digicel Cricket (@digicelcricket) on Twitter or become a fan of Digicel Cricket on Facebook. The competition will be open to all fans who are resident in countries where Digicel offers mobile telecommunications service.
“We’ve always led the Caribbean market in the social media realm. With our Facebook fan base and Twitter followers growing each day, we wanted to find a way to say thank you . By offering the Blackberry Bolds as prizes, we are taking it to another level,” said Digicel Group Head of Sponsorship Karl Donnelly.
“We have been giving away West Indies autographed shirts, Digicel credit and Blackberry service plans on Twitter and Facebook, but now we are kicking it up a notch. And from the responses we’ve had –even before the competition has began – we know fans will enjoy it as they always have,” Donnelly added.
The Blackberry Bold 9700 is the preferred mobile communications device of the West Indies cricket team. The phones are also gifted to the Man of the Match in each match of the Digicel Series 2010.
