Jamaica’s Asafa Powell is seemingly returning to the ‘glory days’ as he tops his fellow compatriot, the world’s fastest man, Usain Bolt in the IAAF World Athletics Tour Standings in the men’s 100-m with 92 points.
Asafa leads Bolt, who is in the number three spot of the 100 and 200-meters with 70 and 40 points respectively.
The other persons in the top five spots of the 100m by IAAF World Athletics Tour Standings are Antigua’s Donovan Bailey with 78 points in second. The US Darvis Patton and Tyson Gay are fourth and fifth respectively with 70 and 66 points.
In the IAAF standing Bolt and Gay are the only two athletes to square off the top five positions after 4 meets.

On the women’s side, the number one spot is being held down by another Jamaican, Kerron Stewart with 100 points. Second position is held by Carmelita Jeter of the USA with 88 points, while Jamaica’s Shelly-Ann Fraser holds third with 84 points. The Bahamas Chandra Sturrup and Debbie Ferguson-McKenzie both complete the top 5 positions with 72 and 62 points respectively.
In the 100m for females all the top 10 athletes except for American women in the number two and sixth spots are held by Caribbean Nationals.
In the 200m, Bahamas Debbie Ferguson-McKenzie who sits at fifth place in the IAAF World Athletics Tour Standings is leading with 55 points, while US Virgin Island LaVerne Jones-Ferrette who shares ninth place with Trinidad’s Kelly-Ann Baptiste in the 100m is second. Jamaica’s Kerron Stewart and Shericka Williams are third and fourth respectively with 44 and 40 points each; while the 2009 World Championship winner Allyson Felix is in fifth place with 36 points.
Felix and Stewart are the only 200m female athletes to top off the top five positions after completing in three meets, except for Jamaica’s Shericka Williams who has competed in four meets.
